Very good restaurant in the heart of Aintree. I visited for a work lunch, so was able to get feedback from my colleagues to write my review. Food: by all accounts the food was excellent. Reasonable portions for the price. You're mainly paying for the quality of food. Bit more on the expensive side, but is worth the money. Service: very waiters and food came out at a reasonable time frame. Atmosphere: felt very spacious, and layout was a L shape. Felt it was good layout and did not encourage foot traffic jams. In summer apparently the large windows doors can be opened up for any more air. Overall, fantastic restaurant. Constructive feedback: I felt the toilets could smell better. Given how nice the rest of the restaurant was, I think always keeping the toilets smelling nicely scented is a must. Also, for some reason when we visited it was freezing. Supposedly the heater was turned on, but we didn't feel it for the 1.5 hours we were there.

All food was lovely , had entrees and mains and not disappointed at all . Staff friendly . Been here a few times now and each time found it to be a very loud restaurant so hard to talk BUT tonight it was out of control ! The noise levels coming from a function they had there was so loud we were yelling to hear each other on our table. The function had music going as well as an excessively loud singer . This became unbearable and we decided on no deserts / coffees - too loud to stay. Definitely ask if they’re a function before you book , not a set up at all for a Gunston and restaurant.

First bad experience was, waited to order at counter. No one wanted to take my order. One guy telling me she will come take your order and payment, tjan another staff telling me he will come do it. Didn't end up ordering. Walked off... Few weeks ago went with my son, asked for mushroom sauce and it was literally water. Went there last night for dinner, ordered chicken and Mushroom risotto x 2. and it did taste little off. BUT didn't put anything to it. I thought maybe it's the cheese they used or something. Normally they give cheese in small container but this time it was mixed in. But it was definitely something off. Coz I have had it before and it never tasted this way. Maybe it was towards end of night so they used left keys lovers of cream or something. Had left over so got take away. Put in fridge over night. This morning it went off. The onions in there was raw. The smell was disgusting. The staff they're give little attitude as well. You go to one counter to make payment and they say go to next one...hahahaha.. I am not sure, do they actually want payment or what !!!!!... They stand there and chat while you state at them to come take your Order... Definitely not going there again...
